OSH in Agriculture

LDOH has special expertise in education in occupational safety and health problems and solutions in agriculture. About 40 % of all workers globally are working in this sector.

Much effort of LDOH is focused on the development of a short course for professionals in primary or community health care to educate and train them in most relevant problems and solutions. Work and Health in Agriculture for Primary Health Care

In a number of countries primary or community health care is active in so called basic occupational health services and similar initiatives, including not only attention to workers’ health when farmers and other agricultural workers and family member are visiting  health centers, but also including outreaching care such as education, workplace visits and health surveillance activities.
