OSH in Agriculture

LDOH has special expertise in education in occupational safety and health problems and solutions in agriculture. About 40 % of all workers globally are working in this sector.

In several countries, primary or community health care is active in so-called basic occupational health services and similar initiatives. In such centers providing basic occupational health care, attention is paid to workers’ health when farmers and other workers in agriculture, and family members visit the health center for health complaints. In addition, these centers are also providing outreach care. Examples are organizing education of farmers and agricultural workers, workplace visits to look for health hazards and risks, and health surveillance activities.
