Carel Hulshof (MD, PhD) is the chairperson of the Board of the LDOH foundation since April 2024. He is an occupational physician and emeritus professor in Occupational Medicine at the Department of Public & Occupational Health at the Amsterdam University Medical Center (the Netherlands). Carel is still active as a consultant for the evidence-based guidelines of the Netherlands Society of Occupational Medicine (NVAB), as the Secretary of the ICOH Scientific Committee on Effectiveness of Occupational Health Services, and as an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in the UK.
His main teaching and research areas are evidence-based medicine and guidelines in occupational health, health services research, workers’ health surveillance, and the effects of occupational vibration.
